Our Family Tradition - Easter Egg Hunting

Dear Easter Bunny -
This past weekend we celebrated Easter with the family and WOW what a weekend. On Saturday we went to a park outside of DC and had our family pinic and then hide the eggs from the kids. You and I hide almost 80 eggs and found them all except for 4. I always enjoy our family pinics - even if we have to do them inside on occasion because of the weather.
I took each of the kids picture by the Washington Monument, but I thought Kaiden was cute in the way that he just sat down. I so enjoy this baby and I so enjoy our family. Thank you for being such a great mom and for helping us to have such a great family!

We also read a special little book to kaiden and the kids during lunch called the "Little Red Caboose." Of course you know that this is the book we are sending to our parents to tell them the news that you are going to be having another special baby to add to the Gosnell family.
After we finished with the hunt we drove into DC and got on the Metro to eat at Union Station. I enjoyed leading my family through the crowds at the Cherry Blossom festival. I still remember our first trip to DC and how special that was for us. Everytime I am in DC I think back to that trip and how much we were in love and we just wanted to be together. I still feel that way....
At Union Station we told the kids the news and they were greatly excited. I love how we treat special things as special. Then we headed back to watch the fireworks over the river. We found this special spot and enjoyed the warmth and lights of DC.

Then we headed home. I love you so much and I love our special memories and moments.

4th of July Block Party

Dear Fireworks -

I just wanted to drop you a short note to let you know how much I enjoyed celebrating the 4th of July fireworks at our block party. I really enjoy the fireworks that we create together but I especially loved...

  • How you invited our friends to be a part of the party. You are so good for us by the way that you help expand our influence by the development of true friendships.
  • How you are such a good homemaker as you made the hit of the party with your meatballs. I have always loved that you were an excellent cook and I love events like these when I can show you off as the "perfect wife".
  • How you were the most beatuiful woman at the party. I love walking in with the best looking girl in the whole place. You really are beautiful and I am so lucky to have you.
  • How together we make such special memories. I know that we will cherish these events for all of our life.

Baby - Happy 4th of July. Thank you for helping me create a life of fireworks!

4th of July

Dear Wife -

This 4th of July we took the kids downtown DC to watch the fireworks on the mall. Although the day did not go as we had planned, I still think everyone had a good time and during the trip I realized all over again why I fell in love with you. I love you because of how you love your family and want things to be just perfect... :)

Here is just a sample of things we did on this 4th of July:

  • Watched the parade
    1. Created candles with beeswax in the white house visitor center
    2. Signed the declaration of independance as the Maryland delegation.
    3. Went to the Archives and saw the actual declaration of independance and looked at a picture of the people that we acted as when we signed.
    4. Relaxed at the hotel
    5. Watched fireworks over the white house
    You make everyday a celebration!

    Happy 4th of July

    Our Annual Easter Pinic

    Dear Spring -

Yesterday we celebrated Easter and our annual Easter pinic with the kids. This is a tradition that we have done for almost 6 years now. I still remember our first Easter pinic downtown next to the Potomic looking at the Washington Monument. Then we took the kids on a paddleboat ride. We finished the day like we always do - searching for eggs.

This year was still a little cold so we had the pinic on the floor in our house. Then we went out and hide the eggs from the kids. I think we all had a good time. I know that you were not able to be as activity as you have been in the past but I want you to know that I love our family and I love our family traditions.

You bring so much joy and spring into my life.

    Happy Mother's Day

    Dear Best Mom Ever!

Yesterday we celebrated Mother's Day and I want to post just a short note telling you that I really do believe you to be the best mom ever. I love the way that you care for the kids and the way that create special memories just for them. Yesterday we gave you small tokens (a bracelet, a candle, a cd, a key chain) but you give us all so much all the time. I am happy to be by your side raising our family.

I hope you enjoyed your day.

    Your biggest fan!
